Xcel Energy Kiosk Wins Silver AiME Award

Minneapolis, MN - July 2, 2002 Xcel Energy's kiosk in the Mall of America won a Silver AiME Award for the interactive game "Watts Up." The game interface and graphics were provided by Artropolis, Inc., a Minneapolis based Interactive Design and Web Marketing Firm.

The Media Communications Association - International announced the award at the 34th Annual Festival of Awards in Media Excellence. The AiMe award celebrates excellence in media communications. The name stands for creativity as well as advancement in technical application, as these two fields unite to create award-winning, high-impact projects.

Watts Up is a quiz show game that was developed to promote Xcel Energy's commitment to conservation. The game quizzes players on a number of energy conservation topics, including cutting your electric bill, creating a more energy efficient home, and using more energy efficient appliances. Watts UP uses high- resolution video, audio, and great game design to create an exciting experience for the player. The kiosk is installed in four different locations in the Mall of America in Minneapolis, MN.

"The Watts Up game has been an extremely effective way for us to educate consumers about energy conservation," said Greg Bissen, Producer/Director of Communications Creative Services for Xcel Energy."

The kiosk software was developed and is maintained by ZEMNOTT, Inc., a Minneapolis based software company and partner of Artropolis.
