Artropolis Launches Bellacor

Artropolis, a Minneapolis-based Web design boutique, announced today that it has completed an integrated e-commerce Web site for Bellacor.com, an Internet-based source for lighting and home accents (www.bellacor.com). Artropolis built the site from the ground up, including front- and back-end applications, functionality, logo and interface design, and post-launch e-marketing.

According to Bellacor.com president and CEO Jan Andersen, Bellacor's results to date have greatly exceeded expectations. Andersen attributes much of this success to the smart, efficient site design that Artropolis helped Bellacor develop.

A unique feature of the site is its Price Quote Service, which enables customers to get price quotes on specific items or based on general descriptions of products that interest them. Artropolis developed the Price Quote Engine using Allaire's ColdFusion with Web-based forms and administrative functionality, a back-end database, and automated e-mail notifications. The site also utilizes image-library functions that allow non-technical staff to easily perform the Price Quote utility. Because the tool is browser-based, it can be accessed from anywhere.
